General Questions

Are you a Certified Arborist, and what does that mean for our property?
Yes. Bay Area Tree Specialists is led by ISA Certified Arborists, including a Tree Risk Assessor Qualified (TRAQ) professional. This ensures your trees are evaluated and maintained using industry-recognized, science-based standards that protect tree health, public safety, and property value. You can also trust in our senior arborist who has held these certifications for over 16 years.
Are your crews trained, certified, and fully insured?

Yes. Our crews are highly trained and fully insured, including workers’ compensation and general liability coverage. All team members hold certifications in First Aid, CPR, Line Clearance Tree Work, and Aerial Rescue. Safety is reinforced through daily Job Hazard Analyses, weekly safety training, and an active safety committee.

At Bay Area Tree Specialists safety is job #1!

What services do you provide?
Our tree services are comprehensive, designed to provide your property with the highest level of care and long-term tree health. We offer everything from tree removals, pruning, and stump grinding to emergency services, crown reductions, fire-ready vegetation management, ongoing maintenance, plant health care, and arborist reports—plus more.
We proudly serve residential, commercial, and municipal properties throughout the California Bay Area.
What is your process?
Our general service workflow:
  • 1) Site assessment (tree condition, targets, access, hazards)
  • 2) Confirm scope and goals (safety, clearance, health, compliance)
  • 3) Choose method and equipment (rigging/crane/bucket/climb)
  • 4) Jobsite safety setup (JHA, signage, barriers, drop zones)
  • 5) Perform work to professional standards (quality + safety)
  • 6) Debris removal and cleanup
  • 7) Final walkthrough and closeout
Do you offer regular tree maintenance programs?

Yes. We offer scheduled tree maintenance programs for HOAs, commercial properties, and multi-site portfolios (and for residential clients who want ongoing care).

Do you handle all permits?
We help guide and coordinate permits when required. Because permit rules differ by city (and sometimes the owner must apply), we:
  • Identify likely permit requirements
  • Provide supporting documentation when needed
  • Coordinate timing so the job stays compliant
Can Bay Area Tree Specialists assist with insurance or liability claims?

Yes. As Tree Risk Assessors, we provide professional documentation and expert insight to support insurance claims and loss prevention.  We often categorize in writing the emergency services in the manner that the insurance companies require.

Do you provide written arborist reports?

Yes. Bay Area Tree Specialists provides professional arborist reports prepared by Certified Arborists and Tree Risk Assessors. These reports are suitable for property records, HOAs, insurance documentation, and risk management, and are commonly used to supplement city tree removal permit applications to meet municipal requirements.

Do you remove debris?

Yes. Standard scopes typically include full cleanup, with chipping/hauling options depending on the agreed scope and your preferences.

What documentation is provided after work is completed?
We provide detailed work summaries, arborist recommendations, and photographic documentation to support property records and compliance.

Are your arborists certified or licensed? What is your license number?

We are a California state-licensed tree service contractor under a C-61/D-49 specialty license (state-licensed since 04/15/2004).
